West Thurston Regional Fire Authority (WTRFA) recognizes that providing the highest quality service to the citizens of the region depends on having a dedicated, well-trained and equipped group of career and volunteer professionals who find great satisfaction in public service. WTRFA consists of a diverse membership of: thirty (30) career Firefighter/EMT's, ninety (90) volunteer Firefighter/EMT's and three (3) administrative/clerical personnel.

The primary goal of our membership is to be a model of excellence in providing emergency services and to be recognized by our community as a department responsive to the community's needs and concerns. All of our members are involved in the continued development of delivering outstanding customer service. Each career Firefighter/EMT and many volunteers play a critical role in the administrative or operational function of the department by managing programs or projects beyond responding to emergency calls.
