SALARY
Entry level - $35,844 (2010 Class 1 wage scale per labor agreement)
Senior level - $61,740 (2010 Class 5 wage scale per labor agreement)

PRIMARY DUTIES
Protects life and property through prevention and suppression of fires; provides basic life support and patient transport in order to reduce morbidity and mortality in cases of illness or injury; responds to fire, rescue and medical emergencies; ensures firefighting and emergency medical equipment, apparatus, and facilities are maintained at a high degree of readiness.
Must possess ability to work effectively as a team player and take direction and initiative. Must also continue to improve education in the fire and EMS field and maintain all requirements of membership. Must perform other job related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Washington State EMT - time of appointment
- Thurston County Protocol - within 90 days of appointment
- IFSAC Firefighter I - time of appointment
- IFSAC Firefighter II - within 1year of appointment
- IFSAC Instructor I - within 1year
- Wildland Firefighter II (Red card) - within 1 year of appointment
- Satisfactory driver’s license and criminal history check required.
- Successful completion of a medical physical and drug screening prior to employment.
- CPAT Physical (valid card within past 12 months – restricted to PST-BATES-NTN issued CPAT cards)
