Training

At West Thurston we understand that the quality of services delivered is determined largely by the quality of our membership and their training.

The department enjoys a high level of compliance in the training division and has developed superior training standards and guidelines.

West Thurston participates in two County wide training programs that provide firefighter one initial training requirements and initial and ongoing EMS training.

West Thurston employs a full-time Training Officer whose primary function is to maintain firefighter compliance and develop firefighter skill.
