Rochester, WA March 21, 2010 -- Firefighters responded at 6:06am, Sunday morning after a 911 call came in for smoke in the 17300 block of Applegate St SW. The first arriving unit reported the single family residence home had a single room (Living room) involved. The fire was knocked down and contained to the living room, with smoke damage throughout the house. Fire investigators are calling this fire suspicious, and will be investigating. There was no power to the home and a neighbor reported, people on the property approximately four this morning. It appeared this home had no established residence and no one was found during rescuers search of the home An external property search reveled horses on the property, but no evidence they were being maintained regularly. Thurston County Sheriff’s office was called in. West Thurston RFA and Mclane/Black Lake Fire responded with tenders, engine companies, and a Battalion.
