West Thurston Fire Crews Battle Early Morning Blaze
Firefighters from West Thurston Regional Fire Authority with help from other local fire departments battled an early morning residential structure fire in the 13000 block of 188th Ave SW near Rochester. The initial alarm was received at 0324 early Wednesday morning. Initial reports were of a travel trailer and house on fire with flames showing. Upon arrival firefighters found a trailer, garage and part of a residence involved in fire with two 250 gallon Propane tanks also on fire inside the garage of the residence. Crews brought the fire under control within 25 minutes. Fire crews and fire investigators remain on the scene this morning to determine origin and cause. A total of 4 people in the residence will be displaced with a referral made to the American Red Cross. A total of 30 firefighters from West Thurston, McLane/Black Lake Fire, Grays Harbor Fire District #1 in Oakville, and Thurston County Fire District #12 in Tenino were on the incident. There were no injuries reported.
